‘Hamas funding kingpin’ always operated in traceable manner, say lawyers 'Spontaneous statements tomorrow, he will not submit to questioning,' say attorneys

(ANSA) Lawyers for Italy’s Palestinian Association president Mohammad Hannoun, accused of being the kingpin in a scam for allegedly siphoning charitable donations to Hamas, said Monday their arrested client had always operated in a traceable manner.

A meeting between Hannoun, a Jordanian architect arrested on charges of financing Hamas, and his lawyers lasted approximately two hours ahead of the preliminary hearing to be held tomorrow in Genoa’s Marassi prison.

“He was very clear and precise in reconstructing all the steps involved in the financing, and starting tomorrow we will begin studying them in detail,” explained lawyers Emanuele Tambuscio and Fabio Sommovigo.
