Teen accused in Ottawa anti-Jewish terror plot gets bail under strict conditions Trial for 17-year-old and his co-accused charged with terrorism offences is set for spring 2026

(CBC) A now 17-year-old accused alongside another teen of plotting to violently attack Jewish people in Ottawa has been granted bail under strict conditions ahead of his trial next year.

He was 15 when he was arrested and charged with terrorism offences in February 2024 by INSET, an RCMP-led team of law enforcement and intelligence partners that handles threats to national security.

It’s alleged that in the fall of 2023, he conspired with another 15-year-old boy “to violently attack Jewish persons in Ottawa, possibly through the detonation of an explosive device at a pro-Israel rally at Parliament Hill,” according to Federal Court documents connected to the case, among other charges.
