(European Conservative) A 40-year-old Tunisian man with a Swedish residence permit was shot and injured by police in the German city of Wuppertal on Wednesday afternoon after a knife attack on a passerby.
The incident began around 3:30 p.m. when the man stole a butcher’s knife from a shop on Kaiserstraße in the city’s Vohwinkel district. Shortly after leaving the store, he attacked a 32-year-old man at random, causing minor injuries.
Police officers responding to a separate incident encountered the suspect near the Bruch suspension railway station. When he advanced toward them with the knife, they opened fire.
