Belgium maintains level 3 terror threat as high risk remains

(Brussels Times) Belgium is set to remain at threat level 3 for some time following the Brussels attack and ongoing Israel-Hamas war, according to Gert Vercauteren, the head of OCAD, the agency responsible for terror threat analysis.

Since the attack in Brussels, where two Swedes were killed, threat level 3 has been maintained in our country. This level denotes a “serious” threat, with the Israel-Hamas war as a significant factor.

According to Gert Vercauteren, the conflict is an “emotional trigger event” with a high emotional impact on the population.
