(Daily Telegraph) A father charged with plotting a terrorist attack against police has renounced his “reckless” and “crazy” actions after he was busted with pro-Islamic State material on how to make a bomb so police stations could be targeted, a court has heard.

The NSW Joint Counter Terrorism Team arrested Daniel Greenfield at Caringbah on Christmas Eve 2021 after an investigation that showed he was expressing extremist views in conversations across the Telegram mobile app.

He shared Inspire magazine — published by al-Qaeda, and an extract from a book — Middle Eastern Terrorist Bomb Designs.

At Parramatta District Court on Thursday, his barrister Troy Anderson SC said his client acted alone when he shared the content to the Telegram platform.
