(Sydney Morning Herald) Federal MP Bob Katter has kicked Fraser Anning out of his party following weeks of tension over a speech the controversial senator made linking immigration to Nazi Germany’s “final solution.”
Mr Katter said Senator Anning had been booted because of a bill he introduced against party wishes proposing a plebiscite on restricting non-European immigration and banning Muslim migrants.
Senator Anning joined Katter’s Australia Party in June after abandoning Pauline Hanson’s One Nation within hours of being sworn in as former senator Malcolm Roberts’ replacement.
In one of the most inflammatory speeches to Australian Parliament for decades, Senator Anning in August praised the White Australia Policy and called for a plebiscite as “the final solution to the immigration problem.”
