Synagogue attack suspect to be questioned further

(BBC) Police have been given more time to question a 31-year-old man arrested in connection with the attack on a synagogue in Manchester earlier this year.

He was arrested on suspicion of commission, preparation and instigation of acts of terrorism after arriving on an inbound flight at Manchester Airport on Thursday.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said a warrant of further detention had been granted and the man could now be held in custody for up to seven days from his arrest or until 4 December.

Adrian Daulby and Melvin Cravitz died at Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue on 2 October in the attack by Jihad Al-Shamie, who was shot dead by police.
