Lerida suspect previously convicted in Morocco on terrorism charges

(Yabiladi) In a joint operation with Moroccan authorities, Spanish security forces have arrested two individuals of Moroccan descent in [Vallfogona] de Balaguer, Lleida. One of the suspects, a 26-year-old, has a history of imprisonment in Morocco due to activities linked to jihadist terrorism.

As reported by Spanish media, the primary suspect allegedly entered Melilla irregularly two years ago before relocating to Lleida, where he was apprehended. Initially involved in the second-hand clothing trade, he later exhibited signs of radicalization, frequently accessing and consuming jihadist propaganda online.

Authorities believe he was actively recruiting, indoctrinating, and self-training for potential terrorist acts.
