Brother of Manchester Jewish terror plot accused thought arrest was kidnapping, court hears

(ITV) The brother of a man accused of plotting to kill Jewish people at a mass gathering in Manchester has told a jury that he thought he was being “abducted or kidnapped” when police came to arrest him.

Bilel Saadaoui claimed six plain-clothes officers “attacked and dragged him” to the floor in a gym in front of his stepson, a trial at Preston Crown Court heard.

He claimed he was shocked and bewildered when he was told he was a suspected terrorist preparing an attack.

The jury was shown police bodycam footage of the arrest outside a gym. The defendant’s hands were tied behind his back with zip ties.
