(NL Times) Police arrested an individual on Thursday morning for allegedly making death threats against writer and columnist Lale Gül, according to Gül. The Central Netherlands Police have declined to comment on the matter.
The 28-year-old Dutch-Turkish author gained recognition in 2021 with her autobiographical novel “Ik ga Leven,” which explores the pressure of growing up in a strict Islamic family. Since its publication, she has been the target of online threats. In August, three individuals were arrested for allegedly making threats against her.
ANP has obtained an email from the police replying to Gül’s inquiries about the arrest, though it contained no additional information.
