(ITV) A woman in Jersey is facing terrorism charges, accused of using social media to invite support for Hamas and Hezbollah.
Both groups are proscribed terrorist organisations, which means it is an offence to promote them.
The case against Natalie Strecker, 50, at Jersey’s Royal Court is understood to be the first of its kind in the island.
Ms Strecker is a pro-Palestine activist and was commenting online in response to the conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.
Crown Advocate Luke Sette for the prosecution opened his remarks by telling the court that this case is not about addressing political issues or silencing free speech.
