(ANSA) Turin imam and Egyptian citizen Mohamed Shahin has been served an expulsion order from Italy to Egypt because he is an alleged anti-Semitic fundamentalist who has allegedly legitimised the extermination of the Israeli people, according to the decree issued by the interior ministry Wednesday.
The centre-left opposition called for the immediate suspension of the order because Shahin allegedly faces extreme danger and even death as a noted opponent of the regime of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
The decree says [Shahin] is a proponent of fundamentalist and “anti-Semitic” ideology, said to be in contact with circles linked to radical Islam, and has “legitimized the extermination of Israelis,” ANSA has learned.
