Turin imam ordered out of Italy Centre-left appeals agst expulsion, 'Egypt dissident risks death'

(ANSA) Turin imam and Egyptian citizen Mohamed Shahin has been served an expulsion order from Italy to Egypt because he is an alleged anti-Semitic fundamentalist who has allegedly legitimised the extermination of the Israeli people, according to the decree issued by the interior ministry Wednesday.

The centre-left opposition called for the immediate suspension of the order because Shahin allegedly faces extreme danger and even death as a noted opponent of the regime of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

The decree says [Shahin] is a proponent of fundamentalist and “anti-Semitic” ideology, said to be in contact with circles linked to radical Islam, and has “legitimized the extermination of Israelis,” ANSA has learned.
