(Montreal Gazette) With the opposition parties accusing the government of using inflated language, Secularism Minister Jean-François Roberge says Quebecers need to “wake up” to the threat of radical Islamic groups infiltrating society.

And far from backing down on comments about radicals he made Tuesday in his inaugural speech, Premier François Legault says he has a concrete example of what he describes as an assault against Quebec’s common values.

“There is one that is flagrant: what happened at the Bedford school,” Legault said while arriving for question period at the legislature Wednesday. “Listen, radical Islamists who denied young girls from taking physical education courses — that’s not a small matter in Quebec.”
