(Daily Wire) Florida Congressman Randy Fine and Texas Rep. Keith Self on Friday introduced legislation that would ensure that Sharia law cannot be implemented anywhere in the United States.
The “No Shari’a Act” would prohibit the application of Sharia “where such application would violate constitutional rights,” according to a copy of the legislation shared with the Daily Wire. Both Fine and Self said that the measure was intended to protect Western culture and ensure that the United States would not be taken over by Islamic radicals.
“We are not going to become a Muslim nation. There are plenty out there,” Fine told the Daily Wire. “If you want to live under Sharia, return to where you came from, but we’re not interested in you coming here and conquering our country.”
