Home Office sparks outrage after advertising for religious adviser who can help illegal migrants get married The adviser would need to provide appropriate rooms for literature and artefacts for detainees to observe their faith

(GB News) The Home Office has advertised for a religious adviser, who can help detained migrants get married.

The vacancy is for Campsfield House Immigration Removal Centre, near the village of Kidlington, Oxfordshire, which is set to be reopened after it shut in 2018 due to riots, escapes and poor conditions.

The centre has space for up to 400 people waiting for their immigration status to be resolved.

It is expected to reopen its doors in December.

Some of the religious adviser’s “main duties” include counselling residents who request marriage while in custody and making any arrangements for the wedding.
