(Politico) The State Department on Saturday announced that it was halting all visitor visas for people from Gaza, pending a “full and thorough review” of the process to issue temporary medical visas to individuals from the war-torn strip.
“All visitor visas for individuals from Gaza are being stopped while we conduct a full and thorough review of the process and procedures used to issue a small number of temporary medical-humanitarian visas in recent days,” the department wrote in a statement posted to X.
Conservative firebrand Laura Loomer appeared to take credit for the decision on Saturday, saying that the announcement came “following the release of my reports yesterday exposing flights of GAZANS arriving at airports all across the US.”
