Suspect on trial over plan to attack Swift concert in Vienna

(DPA) Nearly a year after three Taylor Swift concerts in Vienna were cancelled for fear of a terrorist attack, the trial of a suspected Islamic State supporter began in Berlin on Monday.

The now 15-year-old is alleged to have helped with preparations for an attack. Prosecutors accuse him of supporting a terrorist organization abroad and preparing a serious act of violence endangering the state.

The fears of an imminent attack led organizers to cancel three concerts by Swift in August 2024.

Two suspects were arrested, including a 19-year-old Austrian who was detained in Vienna.
