Two brothers charged with plotting Islamist attack in Germany

(DPA) Two young brothers and a third man are facing charges over allegations they planned or supported an Islamist terrorist attack in Germany, authorities announced on Friday.

Two of the suspects are German-Lebanese brothers, aged 21 and 15, who reside in the western city of Mannheim. They are accused of sympathizing with the terrorist group Islamic State and plotting an attack on “infidels.”

The third man is a 23-year-old German-Turkish man from the Hochtaunus area north of Frankfurt. He is accused of supporting the brothers by agreeing to provide an assault rifle and ammunition.
