The Home Office is anticipated to publish the National Audit on Group-Based Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse next week.

Baroness Louise Casey is understood to specifically link the violent experience of vulnerable young girls with illegal migration, a source close to the report told the Sun.

It is understood that the Home Office fears civil unrest if the link becomes widely known.

A government spokesman said: “Nothing is more important than protecting vulnerable children, and we are determined to crack down on vile grooming gangs once and for all.”
