Syrian man arrested in Apeldoorn on terrorism charges

(NL Times) A 20-year-old Syrian man residing in Rotterdam was arrested on March 7 in Apeldoorn on suspicion of involvement in a terrorist organization and planning a terrorist attack. The arrest was carried out without incident by the Dienst Speciale Interventies (DSI), an elite Dutch counterterrorism and special operations unit, following a tip received by Rotterdam police from a foreign intelligence source.

The suspect was taken into custody after authorities identified his location. He appeared before an examining magistrate in Rotterdam on March 10, who ordered that he remain in detention for at least 14 more days while the investigation continues.
