(Belga) A suspect involved in the terrorist attack in Brussels on 16 October 2023, in which two Swedish football fans were killed, has been arrested at Malaga airport. The man is believed to have supplied the weapon used by the attacker.
On 16 October 2023, shortly after 19.00, Tunisian national Abdesalem Lassoued opened fire on a taxi near Place Sainctelette in Brussels, killing two Swedish football fans.
The fans were in Brussels to support their national team in a match against Belgium. A third passenger, a Swedish man in his 70s, was seriously injured in the vehicle. Lassoued was shot dead by police the following day in a café in Schaerbeek.
