(Morocco World News) A halal butcher shop in Bobigny, France, has been closed since New Year’s Eve “until further notice,” after food inspectors found wild boar meat on the premises, according to the French media outlet Le Parisien.
The shop, located on Avenue Jean-Jaurès, claimed to be 100% halal. However, inspectors found the shop to have breached many health standards including “proliferation of pests,” “poor hygiene,” and improper food storage.
Still, the biggest shock came when they discovered wild boar. Officials found 14 wild boar carcasses and seized vacuum-packed pieces of the meat in the fridge. None had the mandatory veterinary stamps.
