(Westchester Journal News) The Islamic Center of Rockland is denouncing a recent sermon given by a guest imam that was inflammatory and violent in nature, and riddled with antisemitism.
In a video of a sermon given Aug. 9 and shared to the Middle East Media Research Institute’s webpage, Ned Muhammad Nadal praised Hamas by saying they were “the people of Allah” and would not be defeated by armies against them, including the United States, Germany, France, England and Israel.
The Islamic Center of Rockland County responded with a public statement of apology Sunday.
“We unequivocally condemn these statements. The Islamic Center of Rockland stands firmly against anti-Semitism and any rhetoric that incites violence or hatred, as we have for the 35 years we have operated in this county alongside other faiths,” the center said in a statement on Facebook.
