(DPA) The Austrian authorities have detained a third person, an 18-year-old man from Iraq, Interior Minister Gerhard Karner said on Friday following the cancellation of Taylor Swift concerts in Vienna due to a terrorist plot.
The suspect had sworn allegiance to the Islamic State and was travelling with the 19-year-old main suspect, Karner said. However, he was not directly involved in the attack plans, the minister added.
The public prosecutor’s office has requested pre-trial detention for the two previously detained individuals: the 19-year-old main suspect and a 17-year-old working for a company at the performance venue. The district court is to decide on the request later on Friday.
