(Times of Israel) A Canadian man attempted a terror stabbing on Monday morning at the entrance to Netiv Ha’asara, a moshav in southern Israel close to the Gaza border, the Israel Defense Forces said, adding that the assailant was shot and killed.
The IDF confirmed that the assailant was a Canadian citizen, adding, “We emphasize that the suspect is a foreign citizen who arrived at the scene from Israel and not from the Gaza Strip.”
The Kan public broadcaster reported that the man, identified as Qawarshi Zakaria Adam, carried a Canadian passport and that he shouted “Free Palestine!” as he conducted the attack.
