Säpo: We have foiled several Iranian attacks in Sweden

(Swedish Radio) Sweden’s security service Säpo has stopped several different attacks planned by Iran against Sweden in recent years, Swedish Radio News reports.

On Tuesday, Swedish Radio News was able to reveal that in 2021 two Iranian agents are suspected of having planned the murder of Swedish Jews. And according to Säpo, there were also more plots against Sweden.

”They’ve prepared and pursued activities which have had the aim of being able to carry out physical attacks against someone or something in Sweden,” says Säpo’s head of counterintelligence Daniel Stenling.

In 2021, two Iranian agents are suspected of having plotted the murder of three specific Swedish Jews, which Swedish Radio News revealed earlier this week.
