Sweden prevented from using evidence against suspected agent couple

(Swedish Radio) According to a Swedish Radio News investigation, there was more evidence against the Iranian couple suspected of planning to murder Swedish Jews, but the prosecutor was unable to use the information.

Another country is said to have prevented Sweden from using this evidence.

Mahdi Ramezani and Fereshteh Sanaeifarid were deported to Iran in 2022. Both deny any responsibility of planning an act of terrorism.

The suspected Iranian agents Mahdi Ramezani and Fereshteh Sanaiefarid were remanded in custody in Sweden in 2021, suspected of conspiracy to commit a terrorist crime. But at the beginning of 2022 they were deported to Iran without being charged.

Suspicions that the couple were planning to commit murder in Sweden were strengthened during the investigation, according to deputy chief prosecutor Hans Ihrman.
