(Yle) Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen (NCP) on Sunday said there was no indication that Palestinian extremist group Hamas had planned to carry out a terrorist attack in Finland.
Valtonen’s comments to Finnish news agency STT followed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu saying Hamas has been planning terrorist attacks on targets in Europe, including Israel’s embassy in Stockholm.
There was no immediate response from Hamas, according to Reuters, which noted that the group previously said its policy was to limit attacks to Israel, the occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
