(Calgary Herald) The Calgary judge who ordered a city teen to comply with a 12-month terrorism peace bond expressed concerns Thursday about his potential success.
“I wish your client every success in complying,” Justice John Shaw told defence counsel Vignesh Pillai about the 17-year-old high school student.
“The court is very guarded,” Shaw continued.
“I would not be surprised if there’s a review before six months,” he said, after agreeing to have the matter back before him to review a condition the youth stay off social media while on his peace bond.
“Non-compliance with this peace bond, I’m sure you will advise him, could very well result in him actually seeing the inside of a jail cell.”
