Biden tells Muslim activists he’s ‘disappointed’ in himself over Gaza civilian death comments: report The president promised to 'do better' when confronted over Palestinian civilian deaths

(Messenger) President Joe Biden promised activists he would “do better” when referring to civilian deaths in Gaza, according to a new report.

Biden said he was “disappointed” in himself after meeting with five prominent Muslim Americans who were upset when the president publicly questioned death toll numbers out of Gaza, the Washington Post reported, citing a White House official.

One woman who met with Biden has reportedly lost 100 members of her family. Israel’s strikes on Gaza have led to more than 13,000 deaths, though Biden and U.S. officials have questioned the exact figures.

“I’m sorry. I’m disappointed in myself,” Biden told activists after saying at a press conference that he did not trust numbers out of Gaza.
