Groups clash over Chaudry’s future on hate crimes panel following anti-Israel posts

(Daily Record) Muslim advocate Zainab Chaudry’s future on a state hate crimes commission has become the focal point of competing campaigns from those who want her permanently bounced from the panel and others who seek her reinstatement by the attorney general.

On Wednesday, a collection of individuals and organizations rallied to call for Maryland Attorney General Anthony Brown to reinstate Chaudry to a hate crimes commission from which he suspended her Tuesday for anti-Israel social media posts.

Meanwhile, seven Republican state delegates signed a letter Wednesday calling for Brown to permanently remove Chaudry from the Maryland Commission on Hate Crimes Response and Prevention, which the attorney general chairs. He’s also responsible for appointing members.
