(Newshub) Aotearoa’s largest Islamic association has called on the incoming government to expel the Israeli ambassador to New Zealand.
The Federation of Islamic Associations of New Zealand (FIANZ) wrote to both the incoming and caretaker prime ministers, Christopher Luxon and Chris Hipkins, to raise their “grave concerns.”
In a public statement, it urged the New Zealand government to expel ambassador Ran Yaakoby and immediately increase humanitarian aid to international agencies in Gaza.
FIANZ said Aotearoa has always been an “international beacon” for peacekeeping.
