(Brussels Times) A man arrested in connection with the 16 October attack in Brussels will remain in provisional detention at least for another month, according to Belgium’s federal prosecutor.
The man is suspected of being connected to the weapon used during the terror attack, a claim his lawyer has denied.
The suspect, Lamjed K., born in 1979, was apprehended on 25 October during a raid in Tervuren. On 26 October, he was officially accused of murder, attempted murder in a terrorist context, and involvement with a terrorist group.
Prosecutors allege that he exchanged photographs of an AR-15, the firearm used in the attack, with Abdesalem Lassoued, the perpetrator. He is also suspected of passing on coded contacts.
