(Detroit News) A post on [a] Facebook page of a candidate running for the Hamtramck City Council is getting pushback for comments asking if the Holocaust is “advance punishment” for Israel’s “savagery” in the Israel-Hamas war.
The post by Nasr Hussain, one of six people running for Hamtramck City Council, continues by saying the stepped-up airstrikes after the Hamas militants’ attack from the Gaza Strip into Israel on Oct. 7 shows “they’re just as savage and cruel as the Nazis …”
“Was the holocaust God’s advance punishment of the ‘Chosen People’ for the savagery they’re committing today against the innocent Palestinians children and civilians?” the post said. “A heinous act proving that they’re as savage and cruel as the Nazis themselves, or even worse.”
