(Sky News) A Sydney man arrested for turning up to a pro-Palestinian rally with an Israeli flag has told Sky News Australia that police “should feel ashamed of themselves.”
Mark Spiro said he was hauled away by three police officers after being at a pro-Palestinian protest in Sydney’s CBD on Monday afternoon for “literally three seconds.”
“I walked from Town Hall Station across the road with a rolled-up flag. I was literally at the protest for three seconds,” the Jewish father-of-two told Sky News reporter Caroline Marcus.
“The next thing I know I’ve got multiple police officers trying to grab the flag off of me, then carry me away from the scene, telling me I’m arrested for breach of the peace.”
