Raghe Mohamed Abdi yelled ‘Allahu Akbar’ before running at police with knife

(ABC-Australia) Two Queensland police officers have told a coronial inquest they feared for their lives when Raghe Mohamed Abdi ran at them with a knife on a busy highway.

The 22-year-old was shot and killed by police in December 2020 on the Logan Motorway.

The inquest is examining the police shooting and the stabbing murders of elderly couple Zoe and Maurice Antill, who Mr Abdi allegedly killed at their home in a seemingly random attack the night before he died.

Senior Constable James Ross told the inquest he and his police partner were on a “general duties” shift when they responded to a “traffic hazard job for a male walking on the side of the motorway.”
