(ABC-Australia) A teen who pleaded guilty to terrorist offences and is seeking home detention was recently overheard by a caseworker saying that if he was not in detention for next year’s Anzac Day service “he would do something,” a court has heard.
The 16-year-old boy faced Adelaide’s District Court, where Judge Paul Muscat revealed multiple recent incidents in detention, including “concerning” comments made by the boy about next year’s Anzac Day services.
“There’s a comment made that if he were not in detention next year on Anzac Day, he would do something,” Judge Muscat said.
“He referenced to the interstate incident involving others who were plotting an attack at an Anzac Day service in Canberra.”
