(ANSA) Opposition parties have blasted a bill presented by Premier Giorgia Meloni’s right-wing Brothers of Italy (FdI) party that would ban garages and industrial warehouses and facilities from being used as mosques.
Among other things, the opposition parties have expressed doubts about whether the legislation would be constitution[al], saying it would impede religious freedom if approved.
Green Party leader Angelo Bonelli has written a letter to Lower House Speaker Lorenzo Fontana, voicing these concerns after the bill was presented to a parliamentary committee.
