Alleged IS terrorist refuses to attend court Ensuring an alleged Australian terrorist has his day in court is proving to be a major challenge for authorities.

(NCA NewsWire) Alleged terrorist and Islamic State recruiter Neil Prakash has refused to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates Court for a second time.

Mr Prakash, 31, was extradited to Australia from Turkey in December, where he is facing six terrorism-related charges relating to his time with IS, where he shot to prominence through his use of social media to encourage potential IS recruits.

But the Melbourne-born-and-raised former rapper refused to attend his committal mention on Monday morning, despite prosecutors saying representatives from criminal law firm Doogue and George were present in the court, although not formally representing Mr Prakash.
