BG man challenges federal terror case

(Bowling Green Daily News) A Bowling Green resident facing federal terrorism charges after being accused of traveling to Syria and joining the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant is seeking the dismissal of his criminal case.

Mirsad Ramic, 32, is under indictment on charges of providing material support and resources to a designated foreign terrorist organization, conspiring to provide material support and resources to a designated foreign terrorist organization and receiving military-type training from a designated foreign terrorist organization.

Ramic, a Bosnian national who became a naturalized American citizen, is accused of leaving the U.S. with two co-conspirators in 2014 for Turkey and then crossing the border into Syria to join ISIL, designated by the U.S. secretary of state as a foreign terrorist organization.
