Twist in trial of Sydney man accused of role in police shooting There has been a major jury development just as a Sydney man was set to face trial over his alleged role in a terror plot.

(NCA NewsWire) The jury has been discharged in the trial of a Sydney man accused of playing a role in the terrorist plot which resulted in the shooting of police employee Curtis Cheng.

Mustafa Dirani was set to stand trial in the NSW Supreme Court, where he has denied playing a role in the terrorist attack which resulted in Mr Cheng being gunned down outside NSW Police headquarters at Parramatta in 2015.

Mr Cheng was shot dead as he walked out of work on October 2, 2015, by radicalised 15-year-old Farhad Jabar, who was killed in a shootout with officers.
