(Yle) The District Court of Southwest Finland sentenced Abderrahman Bouanane, the perpetrator of the 2017 Turku terror attack who was previously given life imprisonment for his actions, to five months in prison for two counts of violently resisting an official in the performance of his duties.
The court handed down the verdict on Wednesday, although one charge of violently resisting an official was dropped.
The verdict can still be appealed to the Court of Appeal.
In late 2020, Bouanane bit a prison guard on the finger and a couple of weeks later kicked another prison guard in the inner thigh. The dismissed charge related to an incident in which he pretended to assault a prison guard.
