Muslim organizations to hold 7th annual National Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill

(WJLA) For two days on Capitol Hill, activists and delegates from national, state and local Muslim organizations are meeting with congressional leaders to discuss issues impacting American Muslims in the United States.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) will join the U.S. Council of Muslim Organizations (USCMO), the nation’s largest American Muslim civil society umbrella organization, for its 7th annual National Muslim Advocacy Day at the U.S. Capitol.

The groups are advocating for Congress to pass … Congresswomen Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Jan Schakowsky’s Combating International Islamophobia Act (H.R.5665 / S.3384) legislation to address the rise in incidents of Islamophobia worldwide.
