North Texas group using billboard to educate people about Ramadan WhyIslam is hoping the billboard will help dispel misconceptions about the Islamic faith, organizers said.

(Dallas Morning News) WhyIslam Dallas, an Islamic group based in Plano, is using a billboard in Dallas to help educate people about Ramadan as part of a program that will also provide holiday gifts to 300 refugee families.

The billboard is located at the highway intersection of President George Bush Turnpike and Dallas North Tollway, Highway 190, and will be on display for four weeks. It states that Ramadan is “The month of reflection, giving and spirituality” while encouraging people to fast with those observing the holiday.

On May 4, during Eid al-Fitr — one of two holidays that happen after the 30 days of fasting — gifts will be given to 300 refugee families, the organization stated in an announcement.
