(NCA NewsWire) An alleged member of Islamic State has refused to appear in court on Saturday, as the magistrate labelled the case disturbing.
Police will allege that 34-year-old Caringbah resident Daniel Greenfield had been plotting a terrorist attack to be carried out against police and community leaders.
It will also be alleged Mr Greenfield had amassed a large amount of extremist and pro-Islamic State material that he had distributed online.
When called upon to appear via video link at Parramatta Bail Court on Christmas Day, Greenfield refused, with his bail not applied for and formally refused.
The magistrate described the police facts of the case as “disturbing.”
