(Euronews) Three people have been arrested after a group of police officers were attacked in the southern French city of Cannes.
The three who were arrested were close to the suspected assailant, police sources told AFP, including someone who worked for the man and another who housed him.
The attack occurred around 06:30 on Monday morning in front of Cannes’ main police station when a man opened the door of a parked police vehicle and stabbed an officer in the chest before stabbing another officer in the car. The officers were protected by their bulletproof vests.
A third police officer then shot and seriously injured the attacker with their weapon, according to the Grasse public prosecutor. A fourth officer fired through the window of the vehicle.
