One-third of Austrians fear terrorist attacks

(Euractiv) 34% of Austrians believe there is a high risk the country could be hit by another terrorist attack a year after the Islamist terror attack shook Vienna, a poll conducted by the Market Institut has found.

Supporters of the right-wing FPÖ and the conservative ÖVP think there is still a high likelihood of another terrorist attack, with 62% of the FPÖ and 43% of the ÖVP voter base describing the risk as either “high” or “very high.”

Voters of the Greens and the liberal NEOS are less concerned. Only 18% of the Green electorate and 21% of the NEOS electorate said that they feel there is a “high” or “very high” risk that Austria could fall victim to another terrorist attack.
