(NCA NewsWire) A man who admitted to plotting a violent terror attack spoke of “recipes” and “cooking class” in veiled references to making bombs in messages with a fellow extremist.

Sydney man Nowroz Amin was asked to explain his past words at his sentence hearing in the NSW Supreme Court on Monday.

“Peace be upon you brother. Do you know anyone who can make good recipes?” the prosecutor read out.

“I was asking if he knew anyone who was able to make explosives,” Amin replied.

But the 30-year-old insisted he had changed, and said he regretted feeding a “stereotype” of Muslims as terrorists with his actions.
