(Winnipeg Sun) Winnipeg police are investigating a hate-crime complaint related to a pro-Palestinian rally and protest held last month across from the Manitoba Legislature.
B’nai Brith Canada is seeking hate-crimes charges and a political response to protesters in Winnipeg playing an anti-Semitic song composed by a band linked to the Hamas terrorist group.
On May 15, hundreds of people gathered for a rally in solidarity with Palestinians in the midst of an upswing in violence in Gaza and Israel which became a heated conflict between a group in support of Palestinians and another group carrying Israeli flags.
The two groups were separated by a line of around 50 Winnipeg police officers as approximately 50 Israel supporters and 300 Palestine supporters volleyed death threats, insults and bottles of water.
