Accused Islamic State supporter arrives back in Australia, arrested at Melbourne Airport A man accused of being an Islamic State facilitator has been arrested at an Australia airport, years after he dropped off the radar.

(NCA NewsWire) Accused Islamic State facilitator Mohamed Zuhbi is back on Australian shores after being deported from Turkey.

Zuhbi was wanted here and in the US for his alleged role with the terrorist group after leaving Australia eight years ago, bound for Syria.

He touched down at Melbourne Airport on Saturday afternoon after spending 18 months behind bars in Turkey for his alleged Islamic State involvement which included working as a translator, bureaucrat and guard.

It is understood Zuhbi will spend two weeks in quarantine in a correctional facility in Victoria before he is extradited to Sydney on a NSW arrest warrant.

Zuhbi will appear before the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Sunday via video link, NSW Police said in a statement.
